Short Term Residential Programs
Program Descriptions
The focus of ClearView Communities (CVC) is to provide long-term psychiatric rehabilitation services to young adults with persistent mental illnesses. However, because we encounter many individuals who have not obtained a clear diagnosis and treatment plan from current providers, and who do not necessarily need long-term residential treatment, we also offer a 30-day Intensive Diagnostic and Evaluation Program (IDEP) or Intensive Medication Management Program (IMMP).
Intensive Diagnostic and Evaluation Program (IDEP)
Our IDEP will offer a time-limited stay for young adults to establish a diagnosis based on comprehensive clinical assessments and careful observation in group and individual settings. An extended period of observation and evaluation is likely to produce a better diagnosis and treatment plan that will help maintain stability for the resident after discharge.
Residents of the IDEP will receive a detailed psychiatric assessment on admission. In addition, all prior psychological testing will be gathered and reviewed. If needed, further testing for cognitive functioning and personality characteristics will be performed by an expert psychologist. Psychiatric rating scales for mood symptoms, psychotic symptoms, and community functioning will be obtained regularly.
Residents will have weekly psychiatric appointments to collect additional observations to assist with formulation. Psychopharmacology services will be offered during the resident’s stay to achieve the optimal medication regimen. Residents will participate in weekly individual psychotherapy, and daily group psychotherapy sessions. Residents will also undergo a thorough review of their physical health and coordination of all necessary medical consultations, laboratory tests and imaging studies will be offered.
Prior to discharge, a report summarizing the relevant psychiatric, psychological, and medical issues will be furnished to the resident and family. Discharge planning services will include identification of appropriate resources in the resident’s home community and detailed recommendations for ongoing treatment.
Intensive Medication Management Program (IMMP)
For many, managing complex mental health conditions within the current, fragmented system can feel frustrating and overwhelming. For others who are treatment refractory, it can feel as if there is no hope for improvement of symptoms. This often leads to medication plans that involve too many prescriptions, or don’t fully meet the individuals’ needs, which causes confusion and ineffective care. Our Intensive Medication Management Program (IMMP) is here to help individuals simplify their medication regimens or explore new treatment options in a safe, supportive, and closely monitored environment over a longer length of observation.
During the 30 day IMMP, we offer a comprehensive review of current medications and treatment, help simplifying treatment to find what will work best, and support transitioning to specialized treatments such as Clozapine or Cobenfy for thought disorders, or intranasal Ketamine (Spravato) for intractable Depression.
While in this program, we start with a full psychiatric evaluation, reviewing past treatments and medical records, develop a personalized treatment plan to meet the individual’s needs, provide expert guidance through 2-3 weekly meetings with a psychiatrist to fine-tune the medication regimen, assess physical health needs and mitigate and manage any unwanted side effects caused by these medications.
Potential Admissions
Potential candidates for the IDEP or IMMP programs will not be so symptomatic as to require hospitalization or long-term residential treatment. Potential candidates will also undergo standard admission screening procedures to rule out active substance abuse, active violence towards others, high likelihood of self-harm, and active criminal litigation.
