Amber Kuehnel, COTA/L, is an Occupational Therapy Assistant at ClearView Communities. She specializes in providing occupational therapy services within behavioral health settings, supporting individuals with serious mental illness in developing daily living skills, navigating cognitive challenges, gaining functional independence, and building recovery-oriented routines.
Amber joined ClearView Communities in February 2024 and brings nearly 20 years of extensive experience across clinical, school-based, early intervention, home health, and acute hospital settings. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 and later completed an Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate in Science prior to becoming a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) in 2006.
Prior to joining ClearView Communities, Amber played a key role in developing and expanding an Occupational Therapy program within the Behavioral Health Unit at Frederick Health Hospital, where she discovered her passion for mental health occupational therapy. She is dedicated to supporting individuals in building practical life skills, improving daily functioning, finding meaningful purpose in everyday life, and increasing independence through community-based mental health occupational therapy services.
